& EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OFFICES FOR 2009-2010.

DEADLINE JUNE 7 FOR ELECTION AT JUNE 9TH ANNUAL MEETING

Please submit your nominations for District 25 office for the upcoming year (October 1, 2004-September 30, 2005) NOW.  Elections to these positions will take place at the District 25 annual business meeting on June 9th.  You are invited to nominate yourself and co-workers or retirees whom you believe would best represent the interests of state employees, especially the members of District 25.

EMAIL your nominations NOW to:  Ruth Lawson no later than Sunday, June 7.

Elected positions and a brief description of the duties follow:

CHAIR:  Presides at all district meetings and serves on the SEANC Board of Governors.  Appoints District committee chairs and performs such duties as may be delegated by the District executive committee and membership.

VICE CHAIR:  Exercises the functions of District Chair in the absence of disability of said Chair and performs such other duties as assigned by the District Chair.

POLICY PLATFORM CHAIR:  Receives, considers or initiates proposed objective on matters affecting the welfare of state employees.  Presents those adopted by the District the state-level Policy Platform Committee and the membership at the Annual Convention.

BYLAWS CHAIR:  Receives and considers all proper proposals affecting any changes in the Bylaws of SEANC, Inc. and/or SEANC District 25.

DELEGATE:  Represents members at District 25 monthly meetings and the SEANC Annual Convention, serves on at least one District 25 committee, and participates in selected District 25 activities.

LOCAL AND STATE LEVEL RECOGNITION AWARDS ...

The following awards are given at the district level and are considered by the State Awards Committee for state-level recognition.  Please send me nominations for the awards no later than Friday, June 5, 2009.  These awards will be given at our Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 9.

SEANC MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD
To be presented to a SEANC member in recognition of accomplishments during the current SEANC year (Oct. 1-Sept. 30). Nominees will be those whose service and dedication to the association, district and/or particular committee influenced SEANCís success or position on an issue.

SEANC DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
To be presented to a SEANC member in recognition of cumulative service and dedication to the association. Nominees will be those persons who, year after year, work to promote SEANCís goals and objectives, serving in whatever capacity is asked of them. Nominees are anticipated to be the kind of persons whose involvement and presence have left a lasting mark on the association.

DISTRICT CHAIRPERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD
To be given to recognize a SEANC district chairperson for his/her dedication and active support of SEANC both in words and actions. District chairpersons are typically the persons called upon the most to handle SEANCís business and affairs, and are frequently among the hardest workers in the association.  Nominations for district chairperson of the year may be submitted by a member of any district or the board of governors, and the winner will then be determined by the State Awards Committee.
